Teen Performer/Mentor Program
Our new program for teens offers a leadership opportunity where they can rehearse and perform in our production of The Little Mermaid JR, while mentoring younger campers. Teens will rehearse show material weekday evenings in June, and then join the campers July 20-24 , working together to put on an exciting final performance for family and friends. They will also help bring the show to life by designing and creating costumes, props, and set pieces, gaining hands-on experience both onstage and behind the scenes. This is an excellent opportunity to help build their resume or earn highschool volunteer hours!
AGES: 14-18 YRS
REHEARSALS
Rehearsals will be held Monday & Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm , from June 3 to June 29.
Participants must be available for the majority of the camp hours from July 20-24th to mentor the campers (9-4pm).
We are also looking for volunteers the weeks of July 6-10 and July 13-17.
Schedule can differ if the participant is only interested in helping behind the scenes (ie. lighting and sound, stage managing, building props and sets.
FINAL PERFORMANCES
Friday July 24th at 7:00pm
Saturday July 25th at 2:00pm.
PROGRAM FEE - $75

Artistic & Music Director
Lauren Casselman
Lauren Casselman is a performer, director, and educator with a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance. With a background in classical and musical theatre voice, she has developed a multifaceted career spanning performance, education, and directing. She grew up doing community theatre right here in Winchester, later working professionally in Kingston, in outdoor, site-specific, and youth-focused theatre. Lauren has directed youth shows with the Dundas County Players since 2008, including James & The Giant Peach, Bugsy Malone, and You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, and was the interim Artistic Director for the Kemptville Youth Musical Theatre Company's Summer Camp production of The Lion King Jr.
