Can I attend class with my child?

Our classes are designed to encourage independence, creativity, and confidence. For that reason, parents and guardians are not permitted to attend or observe regular classes. We invite families to attend end-of-session presentations when available.

Who are the teachers?

All GNAC instructors are experienced arts educators and working professionals in theatre, music, and performance. Will it be the same teacher each session?

We do our best to maintain consistency with instructors. However, teacher assignments may vary between sessions due to scheduling, production, or artistic needs. Any changes will be communicated in advance whenever possible.

Are bursaries/scholarships available?

Yes! The GNAC Bursary Fund offers full scholarships for youth from families in financial need. Thanks to our generous donors, we’re able to make the performing arts more accessible to everyone in our community. Applications are accepted year-round, and recipients are selected one week prior to each new session.

Do you have a waitlist if a class is sold out?

Yes. If a class is full, you may reach out to us at info@greaternationarts.ca to add your name to the waitlist. Should a spot become available,  prospective students will be contacted in the order they joined the list.

Are there any make-up classes or will I be provided a refund for a missed class?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds or make-up classes for individual absences. In the event GNAC must cancel a class due to weather or instructor illness, we will make every effort to reschedule.

Can I still enrol if the session has already begun?

Late registrations may be accepted if space permits and the instructor agrees that the student can successfully integrate into the class. Please contact us directly to discuss availability, as it varies class to class.

Can I register even though I do not have any experience in the performing arts?

Absolutely! Our classes are open to all experience levels. GNAC programs are designed to build confidence, skills, and creativity—whether you or your child is brand new to theatre or already passionate about performing.

Question 11

Can I register my child in a class outside of their age range?

Accepted Answer

Age guidelines are in place to ensure the best learning experience for everyone. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the instructor or program director, depending on experience and maturity level.

Question 12

Are headphones allowed to be worn during class?

Accepted Answer

Headphones and personal electronic devices are not permitted during class time unless required for accessibility. Students are encouraged to stay fully present and engaged in group activities.
We understand that some students may have a sensory disability that may increase their sensitivity to sounds and noise. We would ask that you have a conversation with the teacher about how best to support your child, which may include using headphones in certain situations.

Can I come to class if I’m sick?

For the health and safety of everyone, please stay home if you or your child are feeling unwell. If possible, contact GNAC to inform us of the absence. We’ll do our best to help students stay up to date on what they missed.

Question 15

What should we bring to class?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the class and your instructor will fill you in on the first week. It is always recommended to bring a water bottle and any class materials you’ve been given. For dance and theatre classes, please wear non-restrictive and comfortable clothing, including shoes that you can safely move in. In the winter months, please bring indoor footwear.
